Strategic Procurement Manager (Semiconductor)

Job Summary : To Support theProduct Development Department with New Product Introduction (NPI) andSupervise personnel in Strategic Procurement Department, exploring the newproduct & process technology, qualify new product & process of thenew / existing suppliers to suit company’s technology, quality and costeffectiveness and manage the procurement of production and non-productionmaterials, equipment and services of the right quality according to schedulesor purchase requisitions on cost effectiveness basis.
Risk management byqualify 2nd and 3rd source for smooth supply of the company. Tightenrelationship with strategic suppliers and secure contract with all main suppliers.
Create and conduct the bidding process if needed. Ensure the department andcorporate procurement goals are achieved and the procurement activities are inline with the company business conduct.
Liaise with Business Units, Production Engineering andsuppliers to facilitate the
smooth transition of NPI projects, identify and resolve manufacturing anddocumentation issues, identify and validate new suppliers who will robustenough to meet the challenges of the business.
Support the Product Development department with cost downinitiatives, analyses spend profile to identify cost down opportunities andimplement to the suppliers.
Find solution to the constant cost up pressure fromthe supply chain and work closely with the suppliers to negate these increases.
Provide technical manufacturing support to the supply chain;find real time solutions to manufacturing, quality, lead-time problems andcommercial constraints.
Manage Procurement section to make sure the department goalsare achieved, and the corporate procurement direction is followed
Develop procurement strategy and risk management fromindustrial trend analysis
Supplier optimization by choosing an optimum mix of vendorswho can provide the best prices and terms
Strategic relationship management with suppliers and securesupply contract management with all main suppliers
Develop bidding process and conducting bidding event if needed
Establish Procurement policies, procedures and standards andensure conformance to such policies, procedures and standards.
Education : Bachelor
Specialization : Manufacturing and ProductionEngineering or similar discipline
Experience Year : 5 years.
Experience Summary :
Would have served an Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeshipand spent at least 5 years in the manufacturing environment, preferably in asemiconductor industry.
Need to have knowledge of engineering manufacturing processes includingsemiconductors, wafer level process; an understanding of electronic andelectrical assemblies would be a distinct advantage.
Have a sound understanding of DFM and DFA and can read and interpretengineering drawings.
Good command skills to be able to influence the design team to achievecomponent and assemblies with best value and lead-time.
Have experience in direct negotiation and can conduct meeting andpresentation on supplier sites.
Special Requirement :
Good Englishcommunication skills, both writing and speaking. Able to operate PC.
